To my clients,
Thank you all so much for your kindness and support- and believing in me!
I have loved working with each and every one of you and I love this bakery more than I can say- so I plan on coming back in 10 years and re-open to prove it!
Some of you may know, but in the past year I have had 3 major sugeries, one with a diagnosis of thyroid cancer- which I am now free of! Thank God! I have tried to slow my pace, but I am so very blessed with the very finest clients- plus so many new inquiries, I am not able to keep up with the demand for a while now. So I am starting to realize what the term "Do or Die" means, and I see that I need to either get a store (so I can hire help) or shut it down. I thought I would be able to bake a cake now and again for folks, but that is not how it turned out. So my heart is breaking because my babies are only 8 and 10, they need me here...
Then last week in a split second I had a life defining moment. My son Timmy (8) woke in the night with leg pain, the x-ray showed a lytic lesion on his tibia, or a bone tumor. My husband Tim and I spent the next 24 hours in a state of raw fear like I have never experienced before in my life. Finally the next morning, the MRI showed a benign condition that is both common and self rectifying. Praise God!
Well, let me tell you that during those 24 hours of waiting for the MRI Timmys little life played before my eyes- and I immediately had regrets about being too busy for my kids. I know all too well how fast they grow up, as I have a son 19 and a daughter 21 as well. So, the next 10 years are for my family, if God provides us with that gift.
I am amazingly blessed and grateful beyond words for each and every one of you, and the tremendous joy this bakery has been. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart and please, spend time with your family today, I promise you will not regret it.
With love,
Laura |
